Augenblicken....

Project undertaken in the platform Flickr offering a path through captured instants by the camera eye.

Recurring images, daily details, places among the vast and the minimun where energy nests and the unpredictable awaits in between the calm and strangeness resting in the gaze.

um ( WELT

Mother and child, belly and womb, one inside of other. This earth, as the ancient cultures knew, as a "mother" figure incubating and sustaining Life.

With double eyes, this film explores sensations, emotions, motives and textures confronting landscapes that rhythmically mix qualities, views and details of inter contained urban spaces and remaining patches of Nature.

"um(WELT" moves through open and closed rooms, dancing with patience, stillness, joy and questions in a pregnant time that inside, silently and almost unnoticeable, is carrying on the process of Life.

a film by mercedes & mateo appugliese (dance); pepe rodríguez (music); fernando nicolás pelliccioli (camera); carlos osatinsky (camera, cut, direction)

two stolen move(r)s, three stolen thoughts

This dance film is conceived as a poetic thesis.

It is born as an attempt to weave moments and conceptualizations on the instrumental body of the dancer in reference to the poetic spaces that dance opens. The materials are a collection of amateur video fragments that have been taken almost in a voyeuristic spirit from two different unaware individuals in two different environments. They were alone and, in their own way, immersed in a corporeal private monologue that was literally “stolen” by the camera. The words are assertions that we kidnapped in our effort of “expressing” and explaining, hoping that their path as “thoughts” will create another type of movement in the mind, one that sometimes finds difficulties to be rendered in the concrete dancing body.

What if all this fragments are clustered together?

The first part of the film is formatted so that the screen allows to re-witness the overlapped dance(r)s’ images, confronted to the string of thoughts, not bringing clarity but, on the contrary, demanding that the eye travels, takes hold on, moves, deciding and building worlds.

The second part of the film comes back to the use of conventions and artistic manipulative choices, intending that the catching back from that video sequence could transport towards us an essential feeling from that dance, that body, that individual in his inner thinking process.

In between ideas and contemplation there is the hope for poetry.

Created in 2012 for the “Peeping Tom”, film screening during KunstLABor 2012, Millstatt, Austria, organized by NETZWERK AKS, platform for contemporary dance + art, in cooperation with büro für tanz I theater I produktionen.

travel IN

travel IN offers a journey through the wild in the city, a landscape in the body, the beauty in a lost detail, resting on a vanishing horizon. The camera is not a passive witness but is located in the very core of kinetic experience. travel IN moves through a world with no distances, no clear edges, not resting. It draws out a path, jumping from place to place, a vertiginous pace in which an elusive true nature might perhaps be found.

Wind Out

Filmed in 2011 in Seoul, Wind Out follows the journey of Alice, who, like Alice in Wonderland, wanders while wondering the yellow-tinged streets of that metropolis in a kind of search, between sleep and wakefulness, to penetrate some mystery.

The images were partially used as part of a performance under the same title. In 2021 they were reworked in the film format supported thanks to a grant from the Department of Culture and Europe of the Senate of Berlin, Germany.

LOS LIVINGS

One captured corporeal experience becomes a possible window where to peep transfigurations of a pluralized body. Steps, details, voices, memories arise and juxtapose, merging fragmented rests that offer landscapes of simultaneities and abstract transfigurations.

Jointed repetitions, circular timings and forced symmetries are the core material of this “living” tableau where the multiple creatures nested in us can exist together for just one minute of brief life. (2013)
