CARLOS OSATINSKY & FERNANDO NICOLAS PELLICCIOLI

fernando

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During Schooll and since very young my parents sent me to practice sports. After trying to do an University degree and doing odd jobs to earn a living, I realised and took the risk of going into the musical theater world in the city where I grew up. I worked dancing on stage and in the backstage in production and assistanship for about four fun and nourishing years. Then I realized once again that my body, soul and mind asked me to move.

I was born in Tucumán, Argentina. My first contact with dance was during my teenage years practicing Folk-dances in the Jewish community. Then I started to take contemporary dance classes already tasting the feel for a freer movement. After high school I started to study Physics at University and continued dancing in parallel. A grant gave me the chance of fully committing to a dance education in Buenos Aires. I decided to take the opportunity and go.

We met each other while attending dance classes at the Taller de Danza Contemporánea of the San Martín Theatre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fernando was a member of the San Martín Theater Contemporary Ballet, and Carlos was a member of the Contemporary Dance Group in Tucumán. Both of us have collaborated with independent choreographers such as Margarita Bali and Susana Tambutti, amongst others. In 2000, wishing to expand our experiences, we moved to Europe.

We don't call ourselves "company", "group" or "collective”. We are two singular beings who share views and connect through their needs and discrepancies, who change roles, who explore artistic interests and interests related to making their way through the world.

In our artistic work, one of our motivations is to investigate different forms of interaction between performers, performance and spectators. We are interested in a creative process that integrates set scores and improvisation in an attempt to generate experiences that offer a sense of risk, openness and aliveness.

Our creative processes and workshops have taken and take place in Scotland, Estonia, Spain, Austria, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Argentina, South Korea and Indonesia and we have developed pieces during residencies in M.U.N.T (Museum of the National University of Tucumán) - Argentina, LaborGras - Berlin, Centro Coreográfico La Gomera – Spain, Dependance Stift Millstatt - Austria and Danscentrum Väst Göteborg, Sweden (Artistic Residency Program KID), c.e.m.(centro en movimento), Lisbon, Portugal.

Besides our individual work as performers and creators, we have collaborated with artists in Europe and Argentina including Anna Hubber, Davide Camplani, Andres Corchero/Rosa Muñoz, Damian Muñoz, Jordi Savall, Roberto Oliván, Josse De Pauw, Tomi Paasonen, Trinidad G. Espinosa, Sonusdos, Trisha Brown, Toula Limnaios, Heike Henning, Irina Pauls, tanzApartment, Andrea K. Schlehwein, Helena Lizari, Yuko Matsuyama, Jonathan Martineau, FACE, Colectivo Dominio Público, Tanzcompagnie Rubato, NETZWERK AKS, Pedro Prazeres, Hyoung-Min Kim, Zufit Simon, among others.

Although we live in Germany, we keep the bridge that connects us to South America and Asia open. We have been invited to teach in various Universities, schools and institutions, participating also with our works and workshops in Festivals in South America, Europe and Asia.

Under the title espaciopropio.augenblick, we facilitate a series of workshops in which we share and develop the axes we explore in our own work. We explore Butosofía, a research carried by Jonathan Martineau.

We are deeply grateful with those who have guided and supported us on our path: our parents, Haichi Akamine, Marina Giancaspro, Beatriz Lábatte, Susan Klein, Jeremy Nelson, David Zambrano, Barbara Mahler.

For now, we are based in Berlin, Germany, and we keep moving, motivated by work and by our need to continue discovering who we are.
