We have reached the eighth edition of The Body in its World. An infinite edition to reveal and enhance the constant feedback between body and world. Presenting ourselves to space and life in an endless embrace.
We invite you to a collective adventure into the depths of the body and mind. We propose an immersion into the bones and the subconscious and we understand that the mountains, the rivers, the trees, the insects, the silence constitute the ideal study to carry out our research. We only know the body if we explore it in relation to the world. And we will only know the world by inhabiting it with our whole body.
The workshop brings together two works, the Art of being born from butosofia and espaciopropio.augenblick, which over the days merge into each other, releasing a renewing movement and unexpected dances. On the one hand, a journey to the bones is proposed to connect with the deep structure of our living organism. On the other hand, we invite a submersion into the subconscious world to allow the transformation of our lives. We will surrender to our own, common and nascent space in the heart of the Sierra del Segura, welcomed by the rest of the giant rocks, the murmur of the trees, the mischief of the living and crystalline waters of the Tus River and the superb majesty of the starry mountain skies.

During a week of the month of July, you may choose the duration, the intention is to recalibrate, to turn towards the origin, to be reborn between the reality of the oneiric world and the experimentation of an emerging movement, exploring ourselves from the shared practice of butosofia and espaciopropio.augenblick in connection and expansion.

Seven starry nights to unveil possibles, dream together, rest in the dance, find reasons in action, alternate between living rocks, awake presences, emerging creativity, inspirations when swimming in the fountains. Open to the environment, fields of possibilities to create experience in an integral way, in resonance, no more,no less.

Life is a geological force. What a most beautiful image of bones than constituting a geology submerged in our body. An interweaving of layers that, in a hidden and silent way, offers support to our experience of moving. The invitation during The Body in its World will be to enter and surrender to its mystery.
We propose a movement practice that expands the daily and expressive use of ourselves. The journey begins with each encounter guiding our attention to the bone support. By raising awareness of its presence and its structuring through the deepest connective tissues, we will awaken its potential in order to release blockages and enter into revealing flows of movements.
In dialogue with gravity as the primary impulse, we invite to rediscover ourselves from new perspectives as moving spaces that are experienced in dance, dance between bones, that arise in the ever-changing experience always fugitive of being material and energetic bodies, singular and interrelated collective and exposed to the vital complexity of the world around us.
We are consciousness in motion, matter reorganizing and vibration in constant transmutation.

Butosofía. The art of being born
The world only exists by being born. We, collectively and individually, are part of this world in continuous birth, overflowing beyond its known limits. As part of the life that springs forth and the subconscious that pushes, dance becomes liberation. The Body in its World is a safe and joyful adventure towards the most valuable thing in our common existence: the subconscious world.
For the eighth edition of the workshop, the proposals will revolve around the desire that drives life to continue being born. Liberation is always a desire. The body that dances must be the body that desires. Vital impulse, conatus, connection, truth and beauty. The dances create the stage where our existences follow their appetite for the absolute, their will to affirm, their fantasy of creation. Dark divers in broad daylight. There is a dreamlike and incommunicable world that underlies our matter and this world filters into the conventional collective sphere through movement. The stage space becomes an altar where we allow a collective transformation to occur, through our bodies.

The body and its World... and vice-versa!

We met in 2009, when espaciopropio.augenblick was already traveling around the world and the word butosofía still did not exist. In fact, it might never have existed without this catalytic encounter. We conceive dance and movement as an existential research where individuals can get to know each other better and therefore to enjoy a freedom closer to the truth. At the same time, the knowledge acquired about oneself learns to contemplate oneself wrapped up in a greater world, in a collective world, alive and dynamic. Exploring yourself consciously generates liberation in the world that becomes habitable again.

Butosofía and espaciopropio.augenblick have continued to nurture and exchange information and practices since 2009. Together, we have created the pieces for the scene Crucifluxión (2013) and Tre3 (2015). We have collaborated in the organization and facilitation of two workshops of Subbody Butoh in El Cielo de la Vera in 2015 and 2016. We are proud to present once again the workshop The body in its world, a long gestation pedagogical collaboration, enriched by the experience of the previous editions that took place in Losar de la Vera in the Sierra de Gredos, editions that have far exceeded our the most beautiful hopes. Some years ago we discovered with great enthusiasm that the Body in your World is becoming a practice in itself, with its own coherence and exciting richness.

Something beautiful is being born and we welcome all the people who want to be part of it.

From Sunday July 14th, till Sunday July 21st., 2024

Arriving Sunday 14th afternoon in between 4 pm and 5 pm and leaving last day afternoon after lunch.

Price:

Participating in the full eight-day meeting, which includes accommodation and breakfast, lunch and a light dinner each day*, from dinner on Sunday 14th to lunch on Sunday 21st, the price is €788.
Registration before May 1st: €688.

* On the arrival day Sunday 16th there is a welcome dinner. Then, during the workshop, proper dinner will not be served. In the evening, there will be fruit and light food at our disposal to calm the appetite but the proposal is to go to bed with a light stomach. This dynamic will facilitate our night rest and our research in the dancing body. It allows us to have more time for movement and offers a well-deserved rest to our digestive system, overloaded anyway. Eating less and better, and moving more freely, at least for one week !

Sessions begin at 7:00 am every morning. Some days are devoted entirely to dance and listening in motion. These days of verbal silence allow us to delve into the speech of the body.
